I was in !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and visited the Auto Mobil International. This trade show takes turns with the IAA in Frankfurt. Interestingly the exhibition coincided with the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! giving this very warm Saturday a unique atmosphere.
It was the second to last day of the event and today I read that only 242,000 visitors were counted this year; 44,000 less than 2012. The organisers pointed to a general trend that is effecting all of the major automotive trade shows in Europe. Concepts are being discussed at the moment to counteract this trend.
It's worth noting that it wasn't my idea to visit the AMI.

Lene surprised me by suggesting to attend the show while we planned to vistit her brother in Leipzig.

Of course I wanted to go. However, I've tried not to strain her patience too much and honoured her friendly gesture by hurrying up a bit. So I didn't climb into every car of interest and wasn't able to soak up all the information given to the cars.
To cut a long story short, here is what I saw in no particular order:
Keep Oppo trucking! A !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! made in the GDR:
The Smart Fourjoy Concept - only real with the mandatory longboard:
This Isuzu D-Max reminds me of a vehicle you might find in GTA IV. I'm not sure whether this is a good thing or not.
The AMG CLA copying the GTI's trademark red radiator grill frame.
His shirt shows a hearse with the phrase: "The last ride is always a station wagon!"
A Brabus Smart. I knew before that it exists, but now that I saw one I still have no clue why exactly...
It's as senseless as it's ugly
Maybe the car is surprisingly special inside? Uhm, no, not really...
Before you click away, have a more interesting tuner-car:
And a racecar to forget the Smart disaster completely
The New S-Class is being abused by the plebs.
Did someone think: "Dictators?". Have a Volvo limousine used by officials of the GDR.
I think the Mondeo/Fusion is an attractive wagon. Sadly the Vignale variant tries too hard to look elegant and expensive thus making it gaudy and awkward.
It's been a long time since I've shown you a supercar. I apologize and give you three:
Is the guy on the right dragoning his buddy?
This is way too perfect, we need some counter-rust:
In contrast to the exterior I absolutely love the interior of the I3 - despite the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Sitting in this nice ambience, was one of the highlights of the exposition for me.

The wood, colors and material combination are a delight. I want my flat to look like this.
Just compare this to the Porsche Turbo's interior:
The gauge cluster might be traditional and therefor it'd be a sacrilege to change it, but everything just looks boring and gray next to the I3.
Obviously I didn't bother to take a picture of the I3's exterior. The Turbo wins here without a doubt...
Okay, this should be enough for now. There will be more !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
